Thursday, August 10, 1769 journal entry from Fr Juan Crespi's journals, found in PDF of book titled "FRAY JUAN CRESPI | MISSIONARY EXPLORER ON THE PACIFIC COAST 1769-1774" by HERBERT EUGENE BOLTON, published by University of California. The specific location of the mass is debated but is generally thought of as occurring at modern day Castaic Junction, Los Angeles County. However this was not the first mass in what would become Los Angeles county, rather it is of interest to me because it is the first mass in the area I live in, the modern day Santa Clarita Valley.
