Father Wolansky was the very first Greek Catholic priest to arrive in the United States to serve Slavic immigrants. This service established the literal cradle of organized Eastern Catholic life in the Western Hemisphere. The original church building built by the community was later destroyed by a tragic fire in 1980 and subsequently rebuilt
